Rid Phobias, Anxiety Attack,
Nervousness

You can reduce, even stop a panic or anxiety attack, phobias, nervousness and other neurological disorders stemming from emotional or psychological traumas with a qigong program designed to address these issues.

Panic attacks, irrational fears and phobias usually get worse if you run away from them. In contrast, they tend to lessen or even disappear if you learn to face up to them and deal with them directly. Try to discover the underlying cause and what triggers them.

Shen Men Pressure Point

Secondly, at the moment you experience an anxiety attack, nervousness or similar emotion, you can employ acupressure massage and diaphragmatic breathing to calm you down.

The Shen Men pressure point is an effective one. It is located right on the wrist line, just below the wrist bone.

Apply the pressure point for three to five minutes. If necessary, release pressure at the point after five minutes, then apply once more for another three to five minutes.

As you apply pressure, be sure to take slow, deep breaths, using diaphragmatic breathing.Usually, when applied correctly it only takes one to three minutes for the condition to subside.

However, pressure points only treat the immediate condition. It is not a cure. For long-term effects, you need to incorporate a lifestyle that includes qigong meditation.

Begin with diaphragmatic breathing. Keep it slow, steady and even. When practiced regularly, it can bring the heart beat down, calm and soothe away anxieties. If you have mastered diaphragmatic breathing, you can practice alternate nostril breathing to clear the mind and calm your irrational fears.

Secondly, incorporate donggong or moving meditation and jinggong or still meditation in your regimen.

Start with the qigong horse stance and bow stance as a foundation for both kinds of qigong. I recommend either the Zhan Zhuang Jingong or Qigong Standing Meditation Postures or Rooting Qigong to start.

Although at this point, you may be more in control of your nervousness, you may continue to suffer anxiety attacks or phobias, and you won't see much progress until you incorporate San-Yao-Er Jingluo Duanlian Fa or Three-One-Two Meridian Qigong in your regimen. 3-2-1 Qigong is excellent for treating a variety of psychological or neurological disorders.

To intensify the practice, it is also recommended that you add on Xueqi Xunhuan Qigong or Circulating Blood and Chi Chi Kung and Taiji Qigong Shibashi or 18 Postures of Tai Chi Chi Kung. Circulating Blood and Chi will increase the circulation of blood and healing energy through both body and mind, and 18 Postures will provide aerobic circulation as well.

Sometimes, just the increase in circulation, release of endorphins and the reduction of stress-producing hormones are enough to relax you enough to reduce the intensity of a panic or anxiety attack at that moment.

Finally, to round off your exercise include at least twenty minutes of jinggong or still meditation, such as the Standing Meditation or Rooting Qigong that I mentioned previously.

Still meditation is any quiet meditation that does not involve movement. You can practice the meditation sitting down, lying down or in standing postures.

If you are new to meditation, meditate on the lower dantian for optimal health effect.

At the end of your meditation, practice Baojian Changshou Qigong or Health Preserving Qigong Exercises. Though most of the exercises in this set don't appear very impressive, they are very beneficial physiologically and neurologically.

How does qigong help your anxiety attack, phobia and/or nervousness? If you have been following the regimen closely, within about six to eight weeks of daily twenty-minutes to half an hour practice, your lower dantian will begin to get burning hot, though not uncomfortably so.

With more practice, the chi energy will begin to pulse or bounce around in the dantian. At this point your panic attack or other neurological condition will begin to lessen in degree of intensity and frequency.

Once the energy grows strong enough, it will bubble over from the dantian and begin to move around the belt meridian in your waist until it reaches the Ming Men or Gates of Life pressure points located in the back.

From there, the coarse chi undergoes a transformation, part of a process ancient Taoists call "internal alchemy," where the chi refines itself to increase its healing potential. The energy fills the Gates of Life and flows out into the spine.

You will see much improvement here, as your irrational fears and anxiety attack begin to decrease in intensity and frequency, but though they may occur less often, more healing still has to take place.

In the third stage, the energy travels up the spine to the head, completing its transformation, then travels back down again to the front of the torso, back to the lower dantian. All this can take several months, even years of intense meditation.

Once the chi is strong enough and can be easily cultivated in the lower dantian, transfer your concentration to the middle dantian at the solar plexus to focus on stabilizing your emotions and your psyche.

Do not meditate on this dantian until your chi has grown strong enough to heal your body. If you move too quickly to this next level, you may find that neither your mind nor your body are ready, and injury, even neurotic conditions could result and worsen with your practice.

People often make the mistake of moving too fast before their bodies are ready. Then they wonder why the qigong didn't work for them. Do not force your progress, but let it come naturally on its own.

Why? Because qigong is such a powerful tool that detoxifies the body. Though the chi can be very subtle, it nevertheless is capable of flushing out all kinds of toxins that affect both mind and body when they come flooding up to the surface.

Previous emotional traumas and other illnesses can bring up all kinds of emotional garbage during your detoxification, sometimes even worsening the anxiety attack, phobia and/or nervousness.

If your mind and body are not ready for it, progressing quickly to the next stage can still do a lot of damage instead of the intended good. So go slowly, and don't be afraid to back off or stop to give yourself a rest if you feel you're moving too fast.

To help cleanse your body of the toxins, drink lots of distilled water or water purified by reverse osmosis.

Expose yourself, especially your eyes, to full spectrum lighting at least two hours a day to help build your immune system. Since the optic nerve connecting the eyes to the brain is very light sensitive, full spectrum lighting also has a very strong effect on the brain, creating positive emotions, relaxation and calmness, as well as boosting the immune system and overall well-being.

Some people find still meditation very difficult to do because they cannot still the mind and "do nothing." If you are one of them, you can try listening to music as you meditate.

Listening to Holosync during meditation will also provide something for your mind to do, as well as increase the benefits you can enjoy from meditation.

Meditating with Holosync for a hour every day will definitely increase the detoxification and speed up your progress, so that you may see a significant reduction in your panic attack, phobia, nervousness and other neurological ailment as quickly as four to six months.

However, be careful as sometimes your mind and body are unable to sustain too rapid an improvement. If you experience irritability, depression, headaches, paranoia or even a worsening of your panic or anxiety attack, phobia or nervousness, you are going too quickly and need to slow down. Stop the meditation, give yourself a rest for a day or two before continuing on.

Qigong still and moving meditation can be a most potent combination that will help reduce the frequency and intensity of your condition, but it takes time to see long-term effects.

For a minor anxiety attack, or phobic reaction, pressure points and diaphragmatic breathing can calm you down immediately. For more ongoing symptoms of nervousness or frequent panic attacks, give yourself at least a few months of qigong practice to see any improvement. Without Holosync to supplement, for some people it may even take up to a few years to see any significant improvement.

The key is patience and perseverance. While it may or may not cure your condition, qigong can definitely help lessen the anxiety attack, nervousness or phobia. Try it for several months and see for yourself what it can do for you.
