Quality Qigong Exercises
For Beginners

The following tai chi qigong exercises are suited for beginners because they are simple to learn with step-by-step instructions and a wide range of intensity, length and styles to meet your individual needs. However, even advanced students and practitioners like my master and I enjoy practicing them too!

Before selecting the appropriate ecourses, make sure you read the descriptions and prerequisites. Most of the prerequisite exercises are offered free of charge on this website.

IMPORTANT: Some of these ecourses contain
multiple installments. This is for your own safety:
These qigong exercises are very powerful; too rapid
a progress can produce too much detoxification that
may overwhelm your system. Best to play it safe!

If you are new to tai chi qigong, I recommend following the program outlined for beginners. Since the list is so extensive, additional recommended qigong courses are offered on another page.

IMPORTANT: Clicking on the Buy Now button will take you
to the transaction page. Once payment is made,
you will be given a password and then taken directly
to the password-encrypted course registration page.

If for some reason, you do not access that page, please return here.
Below each ecourse listing, I have provided the link
to the password-encrypted page.

If you encounter any other problem, please do not hesitate to CONTACT ME. I try to make the transactions as easy as possible without compromising on security, but there are always a few who unfortunately experience the exceptions! My apologies if it happens to be you.

To get as much as you can out of each program, please review Making the Most Out of Your Qigong Practice prior to registering for any ecourses.

Finally, please read the Disclaimer before attempting any tai chi qigong exercises on this website.

Practice and be well.

  3. Taijiqigong Nuanshen Fa or Tai Chi Qigong Warm-Up Exercises CAD$19.95 Buy Now!
These five exercises are often practiced as warm-ups to tai chi chuan, but their true value lies in the health benefits they offer.

This set of tai chi qigong warm-ups targets blood and chi circulation in specific areas of the body.

Though they are often practiced as warm-up exercises, they may also be practiced on their own to improve posture, circulation, flexibility and mobility.

This set of tai chi qigong exercises is offered in two weekly installments. Practice the first lesson until it becomes very familiar to you before continuing on to the second installment.

Prerequisites: basic diaphragmatic breathing technique, qigong horse stance.

  4. Songchi Qigong or Loosening Exercises for Tai Chi Chuan CAD$9.99 Buy Now!

    Prerequisite: basic diaphragmatic breathing technique.

Ideally, you should also learn the tai chi walk, another e-course listed below; however, although it will definitely contribute to building a solid foundation in qigong, it is not a required e-course for mastering the Loosening Exercises.

  5. Taiji Qigong Shibashi or 18 Postures of Tai Chi Chi Kung CAD$64.95 Buy Now!
Currently one of the most popular forms of tai chi qigong in Asia, because it is easy to learn.

Designed specifically to promote vital chi energy circulation in the limbs and trunk, this tai chi qigong training program is also recommended for the less limber student and the elderly because it is not as strenuous as most other qigong exercises, yet it engages the whole body in a thorough but gentle workout.

This ecourse is divided into six weekly installments with lessons on three postures for each installment. However, please take your time in mastering one posture before continuing to the next. The weekly lessons are based on the assumption that you are investing at least 30 minutes daily in your qigong practice.

If you find that you cannot spend as much time in practice, you can slow down and spread your lessons out by practicing only one or two postures per week instead of all three. Pace it to your aptitude and availability of practice time.

This way, you can ensure the quality of your learning. Remember: you get as much out of the lessons as you put in in terms of practice and perseverance.

Prerequisites: basic diaphragmatic breathing technique, qigong horse stance, qigong bow stance.

NOTE: It is highly recommended that if you are new to tai chi qigong, to start with Songchi/Loosening Exercises Qigong, Qigong Rooting and Taiji Qigong Shibashi/18 Postures to form the minimum proper foundation for all other tai chi qigong exercises.

  6. Taiji Bufa or Tai Chi Walk CAD$8.99 Buy Now!
If you have mastered the three basic stances — the logical sequel would be the Tai Chi Walk.

This ecourse reinforces the basic stances and goes on to the next logical step in tai chi qigong training of shifting weight, retreating/advancing forward, and turning/changing directions.

Lessons also include martial applications in basic stances as well as the movements themselves.

Prerequisites: Horse Stance, Bow Stance and Empty Stance.

It is also highly recommended, though not required, for you to know how to root. If you have not learned how to root, you should consider taking the Standing Meditation Postures and/or ecourse on Rooting Qigong, as rooting is what gives solidity to your stances.

If you are serious about balancing and circulating your chi energy or learning qigong as a martial art, such as in tai chi chuan, rooting is an essential part of your tai chi qigong foundation.

However, it is not required that you master rooting before learning the Tai Chi Walk: you can take the rooting ecourses at the same time that you learn the Tai Chi Walk, or you can learn to root after mastering the Walk.

  10. Dun Zhuang Qigong Fa or Grounding the Chi or Rooting Qigong CAD$8.99 Buy Now!
This set of tai chi qigong exercises is very powerful in sending the intrinsic chi energy down through the legs and three feet or more into the ground, rooting a person so strongly that no opponent in martial arts can push him/her down.

Deceptively simple, these exercises require frequent regular practice for the rooting to take effect. A basic foundation for anyone interested in building a solid foundation for tai chi chuan and other internal arts.

It is also highly recommended that you take the Standing Meditation Postures at the same time. A little easier than Rooting Qigong, the Standing Meditation Postures are an excellent complement to this ecourse, and will help you reinforce not only your rooting ability but to develop the ability to tap "earthly energy" from the ground for healing and self-defence.
